Biomet Hip Lawsuit Lawyers
Biomet promoted the metal-on-metal components of its M2a Magnum Hip System, in part, as being more durable than competitors’ products, with “greater resistance to wear” and “improved implant stability.” Injured consumers and researchers, however, have found the M2a Magnum did not deliver on its marketing promotions, and that it even carried an alarming risk of failure. In 2014, Biomet agreed to pay $56 million to settle hundreds of Biomet Hip Lawsuits over its hip implants. Some 1,800 cases are still pending in federal court. Our firm is investigating Biomet hip replacement cases for others who have been injured by a Biomet hip replacement system.
Biomet Hip Lawsuit Claims
People who allege injury by a Biomet hip have claimed the company:
- Failed to exercise reasonable care in the design, manufacture and testing of the M2a Magnum Hip System.
- Misrepresented the M2a Magnum Hip System in claiming it was safer, more reliable than other hip replacements, despite knowing the dangers.
- Failed to properly warn or disclose information regarding the risks of severe and permanent injury.
- Did not provide health care professionals with enough information to avoid or mitigate injuries caused by the Biomet hip.
